Basil Leaf is a culinary herb that is actually in the mint family. It’s mostly an annual plant used in many dishes, but primarily used in Italian and Mediterranean. It’s usually added last as cooking can greatly reduce it’s flavor profile. It’s native to India and many other tropical regions in Africa and Southeast Asia.
USES:
Asian and Mediterranean dishes, pizza, pastas, and pestos all are great uses for this wonderful herb.
